Our wine is land. Our wine is history and, above all, our wine is the essence of the century-old garnacha that has been grown since the 12th century in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, a small town just an hour away from Madrid. We also work with albillo real, a variety that we have been recovering since our beginnings, indigenous to this area. These vegan wines take us back to their origin, the vineyards and their environment, and are free of any superficial pretenses. This allows us to produced organic wines.

BuyIn our vineyards young, almost centenary, and century-old wines coexist. These vines convey the remarkable qualities of the San Martín terroir, which in turn allows us to produce wines of guality and a unique personality, very suitable for bottle-ageing. Age-worthy wines that improve over time.
Located less than an our away from Madrid, the experiences offered by our winery revolve around nature. We enjoy seeing our visitors breathe in the pure air of Sierra de Gredos, and sharing with them the importance this territory has in everything we do.
Since 1992, we have been working on the Madrilenian side of Sierra de Gredos (D.O. Vinos de Madrid), near Toledo and Ávila. We source our grapes mainly from the Pago de Los Castillejos vineyards, the highset vineyards of the area. This exeptional location, together with the climate and the special soil of the area, allows us to produce high quality wines with a unique personality.
We take care of our century-old garnacha vines as naturally as possible. This involves a firm commitment to environmentally firendly, organic viticulture. We consider these elements to be the only way to extract the best from every grape. This commitment also extends to our packaging, which is lightweight and produced with sustainable materials.
Las Moradas de San Martín combines wine and literature as its essence. In fact, our winery makes a nod to Spanish literary culture through the labels of our wines, that feature fragments of the short stories by prestigious contemporary writers such as Lorenzo Silva, Marta Rivera, Ramón Acin, Óscar Sipán, Ángeles Caso, Luis Zueco, Luz Gabás, Andrés Trapiello and Espido Freire.
